Sally Groves spoke to Sutton and Cheam Labour Party at its June meeting about the historic 21-week equal pay strike at Trico-Folberth in Brentford, West London, in 1976. She is one of the authors of Trico: A Victory to Remember which is indispensable to understanding how the 1970s marked a turning point in making women’s rights a central focus for the labour movement. Members asked her questions about the strike and how it relates to the struggles of workers, particularly women workers today. After the talk Sally posed for a photo with members and many of them bought the book. You can purchase a copy here.
