Along with our colleagues in Carshalton and Wallington Labour Sutton and Cheam Labour members were pleased to be able in late June to support the non-partisan Reclaim Sutton’s Streets campaign event in Sutton High Street. It was also good that local members could also speak at the event.
The Group’s objectives, which we wholeheartedly support, are as follows:
We are a group of local women who are campaigning to improve safety for women and girls in Sutton as they go about their daily lives.
We know that women and girls face sexual harrassment as they walk the streets and as they use public transport.
We believe enough is enough and it is time to make a stand and create change
