John McGeachy
I have lived on Thicket Road for the past six years and am passionate about supporting our local community. For over 20 years I’ve worked on community campaigns from Cardiff to Croydon and of course in Sutton. I’ve worked in the charity sector for 15 years, working with a range of disability and humanitarian organisations. I currently work for an older persons charity, campaigning to make communities better places for the older generations of today and tomorrow.

I have lived in Sutton central for 6 years and lived in neighbouring Merton for 23 years.
I attended local schools and I am passionate about reducing cuts to local services I want to see local services kept local I don’t want them to be shared with 4 other neighbouring boroughs I also want to sure that local hospitals are kept open and accessible to local people.
I am keen to see affordable housing being built in Sutton with priority given to local residents when to comes to buying them. I also want to see transport links improved.
I am an active member of my block of flats residents association. I joined the labour party in 2016 to see a real change.

As a mother, community worker of 25 years and Labour supporter, I stand as a Councillor to be a voice of the community. The community that comprises single mums, single dads, parents, families, young people, elderly, LGBT: to provide a voice and representation of individual and group needs. I myself have received support from Councillors in family and employment disputes, as well as improving local area in the past and I know what help I needed and therefore I will 100% do my best in working for my community.
