Greg Charles is an experienced candidate having stood for Labour before. He is very active within the Communication Workers Union
I have lived inSutton since 1978 when I moved from Wales to work in London. I worked in the Civil Service – trade & industry – and before retiring six years ago I had spent a few years working in local government – adult social care with a focus on disability issues. My children and grandson were born in Sutton. Sutton has been a great place for me and my family to live and I want the same for other families. I believe that Labour will work to make
Teresa O’Brien stood in Sutton North in 2018 and polled the highest Labour vote in the ward. She is well known in the local community and has campaigned over the years to prevent Rosehill Park being built on for a secondary school. Her campaigning was vindicated when it revealed the Council already has enough secondary school places.
Teresa says: “I was born in Sutton and have lived here all my life. I love Sutton and want it to be the best it can be for all who are lucky enough to live here. I am a primary school teacher and I want our parks to be places which help our young people to be as healthy in body and mind as they can be. Labour want to be a voice for all in Sutton”.
Labour Committed to defending Rosehill Park from being built on
Sutton North Labour candidates are committed to defend Rosehill Park from being built on. The Conservatives, including their MP have wanted to build a school on the park and the Liberal Democrats supported the designation of part of the land as Metropolitan Open Land, and then later did not like the design of the proposed school they had allowed to be built there. Read more here about how Labour has consistently opposed development since it was first proposed in 2014.
